So You Say It's Your Birthday?

Well, we marked the Kane Triplets' birthday Sunday night--- something we never expected. In fact, we had just ordered a pizza for dinner. As Tom was about to walk out the door to pick it up, I felt two sharp kicks from a baby and, uttered the words, "um.... I think my water broke." Yep, it was time. With a towel in tote we headed right to the emergency room at Greenwich Hospital.

The docs wanted to hold off on my c-section for a couple of hours, but because the contractions were coming on so strong and so close together, they had the operation started within about 45 minutes! Here are some pictures from right in the middle of the action:

Okay, I wish I could tell you who's who, but I was obviously a little busy at the time of the picture taking. Oh, and I'm sure you're dying to know: TWO GIRLS, ONE BOY!!!!

Baby A: Ann Elizabeth Kane (Annie) 3 lbs 14 oz

Baby B: Thomsa Patrick Kane V 4 lbs 12 oz

Baby C: Olivia Leigh Kane (Livy) 4 lbs 12 oz

The weights are smaller than what the doctor's measurements anticipated, but there is always a margin of error of some sorts. None the less, everyone is doing great and should be home within the next two weeks.

The doctors tell me Olivia is a bit of a diva and Annie is very feisty. Little Tommy just LOVES to sleep. Can you blame him, after being stuck in between two girls for almost 34 weeks? More pictures and updates to come, we promise!
