A Little About "Us"...

You may be wondering; who the heck are these crazy people bringing three babies into the world at once? Well, some of you know Tom and I and some of my other blog readers only know me through the World Wide Web. So.... I thought I'd steal this idea from a fellow blogger and tell you a little about us:

How long have you been married: 2 years in May (no, I NEVER thought we'd have three kids by our second anniversary!)

How long did you date? About a year and a half. We actually met during my first day of work at News 12 Connecticut. I thought "that's the kind of guy I want to marry...". Hmmm...
How old is he? He, he... I always tease Tom because there is an over 7 year age difference between us. He's 37. I always tell him, "You're knockin' on 40!". Always gets a rise out of him!

Who eats more? Well, I'm a big grazer, but he eats more in one sitting. However, during this pregnancy I'm probably the bigger eater. I ate an entire pizza the other day!

Who said "I love you" first? Tom. He actually sang me that cheesy Patridge Family song, "I think I love you". Too cute.

Who proposed? Tom did in downtown Greenwich in front of a beautiful flower garden. However, it's actually in front of the town post office. So, I like to tease him that the US Postal Symbol is a symbol of our love.
Whose temper is worse? Ha! Definitely Tom's! However, I get angry and I hold grudges--- I think that's a "girl thing". That might be even worse than a bad temper.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me, for some reason, I'm very anal about that. We even just purchased a King Size bed so that I could have more "space" (not only because I'm pregnant with triplets but also because we have 2 dogs who sleep in the bed). Tom tends to drift to my side which drives me nuts!

And finally... a little unrelated tidbit about us; we NEVER thought we'd drive a minivan. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but Tom has always been more of an SUV kinda guy. Well, yesterday, he went to a local Chrysler dealership to check out some vehicles. We're considering the Aspen, but as you can see, yes, it's a GAS HOG!

So, what's the smarter choice? Yes sir re... a minivan. My sister practically lectured us on how "uncool" it is to drive one. But you know what? Practicality has to come into play at some point, especially when you've got three munchkins to fit in it! What's so "uncool" about a minivan anyways? I'm not too proud to drive one! Hey, maybe I'll start a new trend among the "20 somethings" like myself!

I'm the proud owner of a chrysler town and country... :)
I will also proudly tell you that I can fit the twins into the captains chairs, and the triplets across the entire back row. It's a fabulous vehicle for us.
I wish we had opted to get the "entertainment" package. But since we didn't think the kids would need the DVD player at first, we didnt want to spend the $$... I wish we had, b/c I just spent $$ out of our pocket to have one professionally installed.
Good luck with your decision!!
:)

Thanks for the words of wisdom, Jessica! I think we likely will go with the Town and Country! We had been debating about the "entertainment pkg" but you're probably right, it's worth it in the long run! ;)

Hey... I'm a grandma to 7, soon to be 9, and if that isn't a reason to buy a mini-van, than nothing is! Also, I work with Audrey and Jane every day, and I often have 1, 2, 3... and/or soon 4 of her boys with us... not to mention Jane's 2 beautiful doggies. I drove a Grand Caravan for years when our 4 kids were kids and then I graduated to a Jeep Cherokee, then an extended Yukon, and lo and behold, now another MINI-VAN!!!! I am looking at all of them right now too, and I think I'm totally cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least I have my husband's (as my grandsons say) "awesome" Avalanche to truck around in when I need to be that "awesome"!!!!!!!
