My Next Assignment:

I guess you could say I've traded "chasing the news" for "chasing babies". Well, once they start to move around on their own that will be the case! Anyways, I recently left my job at News 12 Connecticut. It was difficult, but I'm so excited to be home to experience all of the crazy moments with my three munchkins. It has all got me reminiscing about my ten years in the news business and where I've been--- all starting at a small station in West Virginia. The station was built-into The Blue Ridge Mountains where there are lots of coyotes! We didn't dare go out alone in the parking lot at night!
The funniest part is that the news director here wouldn't hire me unless I cut my hair VERY short. He told me I had "K-Mart Shopper Hair", whatever that's supposed to mean! Here I am with my "short look" and what actually looks like orange hair, yikes! I was 19 at the time, willing to do anything for my first job. The funny thing is, all of the reporters had the same haircut. Very strange.
Not long after, I got a job back in Michigan-- thank goodness! I worked at a station in Lansing where there were not photographers. I had to carry around a 30 pound news camera and drive a news car, which I actually crashed a couple of times. I won't go into the details with that one. I also worked at a second station in Michigan. Here I am anchoring with my dear friend, Michael. We had so much fun! As you can see, I was NOT required to have short hair at this job.
Then, a job at News 12 brought me to Connecticut where my hair changed many more times! Too funny!

Little did I know I'd end up staying here but I love it! This move brought me a job, then a husband, and now triplets--- and of course some great friends! Yes, I'll miss my days in the news business (along with all the different hairdos) but I think my newest assignment is by far the most challenging and exciting!
