Waiting for Our Threesome

They always say "waiting is the hardest part". Well, consider waiting for triplets three times as hard. First, it was just the two of us, soon it will be five!

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Courtney and my husband is Tom. Here's a picture of us from the day before we got married. Little did we know what our future would hold! By our second anniversary we'll have three kids. Phew!

At a doctor's visit in September we had a pregnancy ultrasound. They initially thought we were expecting twins, but then suddenly, one doc says "uh oh". He glanced at my husband and said, "well, you'd better get three jobs!". Triplets! Yikes! My husband says, "I think I need to sit down" and I started to bawl! Yes, I was scared, I am still scared, but we're both excited.

These will be our first children, aside from my two Yorkshire Terriers, Remmington and Rosalie, whom I have considered my kids for the past 10 years.

About a month ago, I went on leave from my job as a reporter with News 12 to "rest". Here's the thing; with a triplet pregnancy anything can happen at any time. In other words, the more I rest the greater chance the babies will continue to grow inside me and not try to make their escape early. Right now we're at 20 weeks gestation. We're shooting for 36! So here I am sitting at my computer, with a dog in my lap and three babies in my belly, hoping and praying that all continues to go well. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
